April Fools’ Day of Years Past
While on an unrelated search, I came across a post by Joshua “speedman” Kriegshauser about an April Fools joke he played on some unsuspecting UO players.
“speedman” was a server program during the Samurai Empire and Mondain’s Legacy days, and as he said, there were a lot of players around that time that had been playing prior to UO:Renaissance.
It’s all too brief, but here’s an excerpt:
There was always a post on the forums calling for a pre-Renaissance server.
So on April Fools’ I decided to give them just that. I tweaked some flags on the test server to turn on the much more difficult “Siege Perilous” ruleset and renamed it “UO Pre-Ren”.
I wish I still had a link to the post on the forums with the player responses after that.
