Scroll of Valiant Commendation Was NOT Automatic

I’ve seen several people claiming that they should automatically get the Scroll of Valiant Commendation merely for showing up and fighting Exodus and doing damage to him.

The Scroll of Valiant Commendation (UO Guide) is NOT automatic:

A Scroll of Valiant Commendation was awarded to some players participating in the destruction of Exodus during the Call To Arms event. When used, it confers a +5 stat cap increase, supposedly above and beyond the current 255 maximum.

Some people are claiming that if you crashed you didn’t get it, but that is simply wrong. I fought Exodus on two different shards, did not crash, did plenty of damage, and did not receive the scroll. I know this happened to several other people who didn’t crash, including people I was partied up with.

Folks, it’s an RNG thing. Some people got it randomly, some people didn’t.

Yes, it really sucks because it’s not some kind of trinket or statue you lock down in your house, it’s something that could give you a slight advantage over others, especially in PvP, but that’s the way it goes.

I can say that everybody got the Weathered Journal because it was available to all.

There is a reason why they made the scroll drop as randomly as they did, and to assume they thought people wouldn’t get upset over not getting it is almost naive. I believe they will make them available at a later date, probably within the story arc (which isn’t over).

I’ll even go out on a limb and say they made them drop randomly to get more people to participate in the EM events in the future. They aren’t going to restrict something this potentially powerful to just a handful of people who randomly get it.
