G4 Has Ultima Online in Top 100 Video Games of All Time – Also Top Western RPG Before 2000

G4 TV has selected Ultima Online to be one of it’s Top 100 Video Games of All Time.

G4 has UO listed at #58.

In the video, R.A. Salvatore said it changed the way we looked at video games! Richard Garriott makes an appearance as well.

I have not watched the whole thing, but from comments I’ve seen on the internet, UO may have been the only RPG listed from the western world from before 2000. I’m really surprised and disappointed that no other Ultimas made it on the list. While UO deserves a place on the list, I could argue that Ultima IV or Ultima VII should also be on there.
