The Woes of Oceania – Updated

If you’re keeping track of Oceani’s woes, they’ve been up and down and laggy for a few weeks now. This was posted yesterday afternoon on the UO Herald:

Connectivity Issues to Shard Oceania

We have been informed by our service provider that there are issues to connect to shard Oceania.

The situation is under investigation. Keep an eye on the Herald for updates.

Update 2:30pm EDT: Oceania is back online. We are investigating the lag issues

Jeff Skalski, the Boss of UO, had this to say on Stratics

I agree it’s ridiculous. My apologies guys. Fix is in the works. Unfortunately not a simple quick fix. We’ve been working on it over the last few weeks. It has to do with a flaw with our partner there.

It was around this time last year that Oceania was transferred to servers located in Australia (March 30, 2011 to be precise).
